[A] Museo Cerralbo [Ventura Rodríguez 17] with works by El Greco and Titian.
[B] Museo Municipal De Arte Contemporaneo [Conde Duque 9] offers a tour through the history of Spanish art through its collection of painting, sculpture, photography, graphic work and installations.
[C] Museo Romantico [San Mateo 13] contains works by the most important 19th century Spanish artists.
[D] Real Academia de Bellas Artes [Alcalá 13] with works by Velázquez, Goya, Zurbarán, Rubens and Van Dyck.
[E] Museo Sorolla (Soroya) [Passeo de General Martínez Campos 37]. This was the residence of the Valencian artist Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida in the early 1900s. As well as his paintings, the museum contains sculptures, ceramic works, jewellery and period furniture.
[F] Museo de Escultura al Aire Libre [Paseo de la Castellana 41]. Outdoor museum that exhibits a magnificent collection of abstract Spanish sculptures.
[G] Museo Lazaro Galdiano [Serrano 122] is considered to be one of the Spain's finest private musuems. The collection was built up by the Spanish entrepreneur José Lázaro Galdiano (1862-1947) and comprises over 15,000 works of art including the great Spanish and European Masters.
[H] Museo de Cera [Passeo de Recoletos 41]. The Wax Museum presents a chronology of historical personalities, figures or fictional characters from prehistoric man to the present day.
[I] Museo Arqueologico Nacional [Serrano 13]. Pehistoric exhibits, antiquities from Egypt and Greece, numismatic exhibits, and a recreation of some of the polychrome rock paintings found in the Altamira cave.
[J] Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza [Paseo del Prado]. The Museum’s collection complements the works of art in El Prado and the Reina Sofía Museum, the other two museums making up the "Golden Triangle of Art" in Madrid (see below).
