[E] San Nicolás de los Servitas This church tower is one of the oldest buildings in Madrid. There's some debate over whether it once formed part of an Arab mosque.
[F] Plaza Mayor. "An indispensable visit for tourists and travellers, this is Madrid's most emblematic place, especially animated during Christmas and in the summer, when you can have a drink or a bite in the terrace cafés that have become the plaza's emblem." Enjoy the busy atmosphere in one of the many sidewalk cafes. This plaza was built by King Philipe III (on horse in centre of plaza) about 1619.
[G] Puerta del Sol, the geographical centre of Nadrid, from which all distnces are measured. Great shopping and exciting night life.
[H] Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza [Paseo del Prado]. The museum contains close to 1000 paintings, including 220 works of art from the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection, from the thirteenth century right up to the late twentieth century. The Museum’s collection complements the works of art in El Prado and the Reina Sofía Museum, the other two museums making up the "Golden Triangle of Art" in Madrid (see below).
[I] Parque del Retiro, the most popular park in Madrid, can get very crowded on weekends. It was originally created as a park for the family of King Philipe IV.
